We are very
saddened to learn of the passing of one of our favorite Camp Jam artists.
On August 5th, 2008, Robert Hazard died from complications after surgery
for cancer. Our sincerest condolences go out to his wife Susan and his
children. We will miss you, your smile, your music and your kindness.
We love you Robert.
"You're walkin down a dirt road by
some shady grove at dusk. The campsites are glowing in a ring around
the lake. There's music in the air, guitars strumming and humming with
the cicadas in the cottonwoods, voices raised high wail out across the water
and woods and out into the farm fields beyond. They're selling crafts
and t-shirts in tents along the road. People stop to talk and laugh
and share the music. A poet slips a dog-eared piece of paper into my
jacket pocket. It was a good one. You're with a friend drinking
a cold beer, she's wearin' your hat, your lucky hat. Your boots
are deep in the rut now. The sun slips away, but the music goes on
long into the night. You never forget a night like that. It's
the real deal. You're at the Camp Jam and you keep going back cause
you just can't get enough. I'll see you there."
Robert Hazard
You think he got it? We think so!

VISIT OUR GREAT FOOD VENDOR!!
Gerry’s Family Barbeque – Reverend George and friends will once
again be serving up some of the best BBQ Chicken and Ribs you’ll ever
taste. They will also have a variety of salads, veggies, desserts and
beverages and once again, the crew will be bringing breakfast goods, juices
and coffee, etc. Why bother with all the fuss and mess, just eat with
Gerry, George and the girls. By the way,
these folks think we are CRAZY!! Dancing all night in the rain last year
just confirmed it for them. Be sure to stop in and say hello.
